My name is John Houck. I am fortunate to have lived my entire life in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York State, where over the past 40 years I have had the privilege of hunting, fishing, trapping, and hiking in the great outdoors. I’ve learned a great deal about God’s creations during those years, and I continue to learn something new with each and every adventure.

My passion for taxidermy began as a teenager, and has continued for over 30 years. This experience, coupled with specialized training by leaders in the taxidermy industry, has honed my skills to allow me to replicate nature’s beauty. As you can see from my gallery, I focus on not only the beauty of the fish or animal, but placing it in their natural environment as well.

At Field & Stream Taxidermy I offer a unique and artistic approach to taxidermy. I will work with you to create the pose you desire for that special trophy. At the same time, I will design a habitat that will re-create a natural environment and make your mount realistic, beautiful, and unique.
